Cyano aclylate CA-W20, CA-152: The remarkable chemical and physical properties of ethyl cyanoacrylate led
to their use as instant adhesive. The highly polar character of the hardened polymer permits the formation of
very strong bonds between a wide variety of materials.
Application Method
- Surfaces to be bonded should be clean.
- Make a small hole on the top of the bottle tip with a tiny pin.
Be careful not to splash into eyes.
- Apply a small amount to one surface. The amount used should be
small because too much adhesive will not make a good bond. Immediately
joint to other surface and press to spred the adhesive evenly. It
will bond in seconds and maximum strength is reached after 24 hours.
- Should be stored in cool, dark and dry place. Storage in refrigerator
or freezer is advised, however it should be adjusted to room temperature
when bottle is opened for use.
- Cleaning: adhesive bonds maybe dissolved in aceton, M. E. K.,
ethyl acetate, cyclohexane, preferably melting the polymer at 160deg
C and then wipe the hot malt mass off before cleaning with the solvents.
- Safety precaution: Avoid contact with eyes. If it gets into the
eye, should be rinsed with tap water for 15 minutes and call on
an ophthalmologist. When eyelid are stuck with the adhesive, press
with steamed hot towel and eyelid maybe opened by the perspiration.
- Important: Do not try to take apart strongly or scrub with hand.
It will hurt the eye. In case of fingers contact and cannot be separated,
put the fingers in warm water for a while and then separate slowly.
If still adhered strongly, use solvent such as acetone to remove
and then wash with soap water.
